Help For The Journey

Destination:  Eternity

Nothing is more important than one's eternal destiny.  We are all headed somewhere.  No exceptions.  To deny that there is life after death is to reject the veracity of the Bible.  If you take God at His Word, then you know that this life is only a journey to the next.  Each of us enters this world in the same way, and each has an appointment with death.  ("And as it is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment."  Hebrews 9:27)  It is what lies between that makes the difference.
There are two kinds of citizens:  those who live for the fleeting moments of this life and those who are receiving a heavenly kingdom.  For the citizens of the heavenly kingdom, the road can be lonely, difficult and.... well, strait and narrow.  To expect anything else is unrealistic if we believe the words of Jesus.  But God does not put us on this path and say, "Go it alone; get there as best as you can."  He has graciously provided help, light, fellowship, times of refreshing, and grace a-plenty for the way.

What's Here?

Discouraged?  Disappointed?  Defeated?

The road is rough.  The Cross is not convenient.  The flesh wars against the Spirit.  We get tired.  Sometimes we don't think we can make it or want to try.  Other times our flesh wins and we wonder if God will show us mercy yet again.  We feel isolated when we hear others speak as if they only experience victory.  I've been there more times than I care to count.  But I am here to tell you that the ocean of God's mercy cannot be fathomed.  His love has no limit.  His care for His erring children has no boundary.  Don't give up!  Run once again to the Cross and in faith leave your burden there.  His promise to seekers is still good.  His word to knockers still holds true.  He still answers the asker.  Matthew 7:7-8
I want this to be a place where we can meet together and find encouragement for the rest of the trip.  A rest stop of sorts.  Refuel.  Stretch your legs.  Get a cool drink.  Figuratively speaking of course!  And speaking of figures...
In 2015, I began studying a book that is familiar to most.  John Bunyan's, Pilgrim Progress.  I have likened it to seeing my life's journey laid out on a map.  It is a MUST-READ.  It is rich with biblical doctrine and practical help.  See the "Pilgrim's Progress" tab up there?  You can have free access to my study notes and application questions.  Please help yourself!
